Faith Formation and Catechesis

At our Parish of St. Joseph, there are many ways to get involved in Catechetical Ministry!  These ministries range from the very young to mature adults.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

—At the 9am and the 11am (10:45 in season), children who have not yet received their First Communion are invited to the annex to participate in the Liturgy of the Word in a way that best suits them.  They go through the readings and discuss the Gospel and then return to their parents for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Parish School of Religion

— Sundays at 10:15am to 11:30am we teach grades pre-k through 8 in a CCD format.

Whole Family Catechesis

—On Wednesdays from 6:15pm to 7:30pm whole families participate in a catechetical program designed to foster faith within the family context.  Families have activity nights together, as well as time set aside in the Church for prayer.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

—This program is meant for adults who wish to either convert to Catholicism or to finish receiving the Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic Church.

Ongoing Adult Formation Series

—Every Advent and Lent, St. Joseph’s offers an adult series on various topics after the 8:30am morning Mass.  These are great ways to delve deeper into the various aspects of our Catholic Tradition.

Baptismal Preparation

—One of the most important aspects of our Christianity is the Sacrament of Baptism.  Once a month on a Sunday morning at 10:15am to 11:15am, parents and godparents learn about the importance of their roles and the Church’s teachings on Baptism.
